GoSolarSF Incentive
Instructions for Solar Installers
The GoSolarSF Program provides an incentive for qualifying installations performed by certified GoSolarSF contractors. Contractors must establish eligibility and maintain certification with DEWD to perform solar installations that qualify for the incentive.
These are the steps to become a Certified GoSolarSF Contractor:
Step 1:
Complete and submit the GoSolarSF Employer Participation Agreement.
You may find the Employer Participation Agreement
here
. After you have submitted the Employer Participation agreement to DEWD, you will be given Provisional Certification as a GoSolarSF Installer. This means you may advertise your eligibility to perform installations that qualify for the GoSolarSF incentive.
Step 2:
Recruit candidates from the TrainGreenSF Academy.
Send job descriptions to the TrainGreenSF Academy to find potential candidates for jobs. These candidates will be San Francisco residents that have been provided job-readiness and vocational training. You can find more information on TrainGreenSF
here
.
Step 3:
Interview and hire at least (1) solar installer and (1) non-installer worker.
A previously hired GoSolarSF installer counts toward the hiring requirements. After you have hired at least one (1) solar installer and (1) non-installer worker you will be given Full Certification and you may start work onsite for installations that qualify for the GoSolarSF incentive. Fill out an employment verification form and submit to DEWD. You can find the employment verification form
here
.
Step 4:
Perform Workforce Development Incentive Installations.
As a requirement for participation in the program, you must provide Referred Workers with skilled work, pay them at least $15.00 per hour, and have them work at least 80% out of a 40 hour work week. Further, you must ensure a 50% compliance target for all installations that qualify for this incentive. You can find more information on the GoSolarSF compliance criteria
here
.
Step 5:
Submit a monthly performance report.
To maintain certification for this incentive, you must complete a monthly performance report that demonstrates that you meet all of the requirements of the program. You can download the reporting form
here
.
