VP of Human Resources, UCSF Health
Jeffrey Chiu is currently the Vice President of Human Resources for UCSF Health. In this position he is responsible for driving strategic and operational initiatives to attract, develop and retain top talent to carry out the UCSF Health mission, vision and goals. He oversees the operations for talent acquisition, compensation, onboarding and HR operations, employee and labor relations, benefits and leave of absence administration, human resource information systems, occupational health services, workers compensation, ergonomics and disability management, outreach and diversity, workforce planning and contingent/temporary labor.
Jeffrey grew up in New Jersey, attended Rutgers University for his undergraduate and graduate education and moved to San Francisco after earning a Master’s in Human Resources Management. His first job in San Francisco was a temporary position with UCSF Stanford Health Care as a Recruiting Assistant in Human Resources. He was hired as a permanent employee within a few months, and has been with the organization through its transition from UCSF Stanford Health Care to UCSF Medical Center to UCSF Health. In his 18 years with UCSF Human Resources he’s held many different roles with increasing responsibility, moving from an individual contributor to supervisor, to manager, up to his current role as the executive leader.
