Kao Got a Stipend to Train as a Personal Caregiver

Kao wanted a career that did significant work caring for the vulnerable in the community. Kao previously worked with a  hospice program at a medical center while incarcerated and “became the loving and caring person {he} was brought into this world to be.”

Kao started Homebridge’s Personal Caregiver Training program through the Healthcare Academy which included introductory personal care courses and a stipend to help complete the zero-cost training.

Now, Kao is part of Homebridge’s Caregiver Emergency Response Team (CERT) and he gives in a more meaningful and significant way. “It’s humbling that I can put so much energy and strength and motivation into my job and make a difference in their lives.”
