TechSF Student Engagement

TechSF connects industry to volunteering opportunities with high school juniors, seniors and community college students. Businesses can help students explore careers and prepare for a future in tech through Work Based Learning experiences. 

Work Based Learning

TechSF provides work based learning opportunities through the California Career Pathways Trust partnership with San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) and City College of San Francisco (CCSF). 

Common ways to connect students with TechSF student pipeline:

Way to Engage Example
JOIN A TECHSF “STORY SERIES” CAREER PANEL Share your career story at neighborhood community venues throughout the City. Connect with local students and jobseekers and share your personal story.
TABLE AT A TECHSF CAREER/ RESOURCE FAIR Provide local students and jobseekers information on opportunities at your company, insight into sought after skills, valuable resources and advice on how to stand out from the pack.
BE A TECHSF MENTOR Review up-and-coming jobseekers’ resume and portfolios and provide advice and strategies for landing a career in tech.
HOST A JOB SHADOW or WORKPLACE TOUR Expose TechSF participants and local High School and City College students to what it’s like working in your company, division and/or occupation. 
BE AN INDUSTRY JUDGE AT A TECHSF SHOWCASE Evaluate TechSF participants’ and local students’ “products.”
HOST A TECHSF INTERN Provide invaluable on the job learning opportunities for TechSF participants and local students.
