San Francisco, CA – The Office of Economic & Workforce Development today announced the Governor’s signature of SB 1285, an innovative bill to support neighborhood restaurants in some of San Francisco’s outer commercial corridors. Authored by Senator Mark Leno (D-San Francisco), the legislation creates a new type of affordable, non-transferable liquor license to support existing restaurants and encourage the opening of new restaurants in specific San Francisco neighborhoods.

Today, 40 businesses have taken the pledge with an estimated impact of $1.92 million of spending directed to local small businesses in San Francisco.

San Francisco, CA—In response to a five-alarm fire on June 18 near 29^th and Mission, San Francisco Mayor Edwin M. Lee has directed the Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) to activate the Small Business Disaster Relief Fund, providing emergency capital to small business impacted by the fire.  The Small Business Disaster Recovery Fund is  part of a comprehensive assistance package which includes resources and services aimed at helping small businesses and their employees recover as quickly as possible.

The fire impacted businesses directly and nearby; and this meeting will allow businesses and affected employees to learn more about disaster recovery resources and services. The meeting will also provide language translation.
