OEWD Announces $2.8 million RFP for Neigbhborhood Economic and Workforce Services

 

San Francisco, CA— The Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) announced Request for Proposals (RFP) to deliver neighborhood, business, and workforce services. This $2.8 million investment will allow local community based organizations to apply and deliver programs that strengthen neighborhood corridors and create strong pathways to jobs while ensuring a strong, vibrant, and diverse economy for San Francisco.

The Office of Economic and Workforce Development Activates the Small Business Disaster Relief Fund in Response to Fire on West Portal

San Francisco, CA—In response to a three-alarm fire on West Portal Avenue last night, Mayor Mark Farrell has directed the Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) to activate the Small Business Disaster Relief Fund. The fund will allow the three business that were impacted to access up to 10K in funds for inventory replacement, equipment purchases, security deposits for a new lease, employee salaries, or other expenses to stabilize cash flow. It is designed to provide businesses with capital as they assess damages and compile resources to safely and effectively reopen.

SBC Approves Four More Businesses to the Legacy Business Registry

San Francisco, CA — On Monday, December 11, four businesses, Beck’s Motor Lodge, Eddie’s Café, Little Joe’s Pizzeria and One Twenty For Hair were unanimously approved by the San Francisco Small Business Commission for the Legacy Business Registry. The Registry recognizes longstanding, community-serving businesses as valuable cultural assets to the city. There are currently 119 small businesses on the Legacy Business Registry.

San Francisco, CA — On Monday, the San Francisco Small Business Commission unanimously approved two businesses for inclusion on the Legacy Business Registry – El Rio and Hwa Rang Kwan Martial Arts Center.
